| About Conclave :: Introduction |
The relevance of the Buddha's teachings is known to all as Saddhamma, the
good way of life and livelihood. The Dhamma teachings of the Buddha are
universal to experience that helped people to come out of suffering through
the purification of the mind since the time of the Buddha. Also the Dhamma
of the Buddha continues to show us the path of freedom as and when we
practice.
Underscoring the relevance of Buddhism as a living tradition, the Ministry of
Tourism, Government of India and the Department of Tourism, Government
of Bihar, with technical support of Nava Nalanda Mahavihara, are organizing
a two-day International Buddhist Conclave — Experience Buddhism – In the
Land of its Origin in the vibrant environment of Nalanda and Rajgir, adjacent
to Bodh Gaya. Besides the two days of working sessions, package dhamma
tours on payment basis is arranged. A pre-event complimentary travel by Mahaparinirvana Special Train has also been arranged by IRCTC.
The proposed international conclave will host scholars, reputed
academicians, travel & tour operators and media persons both from India
and aborad. The main objective of the International Conclave is to give
major thrust to cultural tourism and explore potential related to the
Buddhist circuits in India and especially in Bihar.
During the Conclave there will be separate sessions connected with
academics and tour operator to focus on developing and highlighting the
Buddhist tourist potential of the state. We expect that the International
Conclave would not only give a big impetus to tourism but would open a
gateway to rural tourism in the area. This would reveal to the participants
the potential of heritage sites not yet known to the wider world. |
